Copperwound Chronicles Vol. 2

So we had our first gig Saturday. Since no one else wants to write anything, I’ll write about that. It went well, thanks for asking! We began our set at about 8:00, and kicked it off with a bang, playing Soulhat’s Prayin’ for Rain. Everything was going just dandily until our fourth song, where all of a sudden, the door flew open and someone waved, and half the bar cleared out in less than twenty seconds.

Bar fight! Except that it wasn’t actually in the bar. It was outside. A full-on biker fight though, it was! Exciting stuff. Except that it was the lead singer of the headlining band who had gotten jumped. These two guys had been sitting at the end of the bar for a couple of hours waiting for him to show up. And my friend Brandy had been talking to them.

Well it turns out he was okay, but they ended up not playing. So we got back up there and played an acoustic set, inviting other musicians to come up and join us at different points, and we covered a couple of hours that way. Once we finally took a break from that, a couple of other guys got up there and played a few. Good times. The bar was slowly but surely clearing out though, as people hadn’t really come to hear acoustic sets.

Even still it went well and they liked us, and invited us back. We had good turnout for this gig. About 60 people showed up to see us. So we’ll be playing there again, same time, on December 3. Come check us out if you get a chance. Click here for the website.

We really had a blast at the gig and were honored to be asked on stage for the 2nd set. I think LBG is going to soon become our home bar.
