SpaceBrew Review: Avatar

I can’t really say much about this movie. It’s one of those things you have to have seen to be able to discuss with someone intelligibly. There’s just so much going on and so much detail and so much intensity that you really can’t do any of it justice by describing it to someone. But I will say one thing. You must see this in Real D 3-D. Seeing it in regular 2-D movie style just wouldn’t suffice. It would still be a great movie, but the 3-D is so incredible that it really puts you in it. You feel like you’re there.

It’s more than just a movie, too. Obviously, the 3-D effect is half of the experience. But the other half is the picture itself. And it really is an experience. Not just a cinematic one. But a life experience. You simply must go see this film, in 3-D, before it leaves the theaters forever. And before you die. I think it’s something any true movie buff should experience. It really is good.

Like I said, I can’t tell you about it. You just have to see it. Just suffice it to say that it was well done, Jim Cameron didn’t leave anything out – he covered all the bases, and it was very believable. Realistic and emotional. And it’s not your average CGI movie either. Since the technology they used to put the graphics on the screen is so different than anything you’ve ever seen, you can’t imagine how realistic it looks. They don’t look like George Lucas’s Star Wars cartoons running around on the screen. The suspension of disbelief is not even a thought. These are real people performing the actions, and the computer just basically colors them in on the screen and adds detail. Of course it’s a little more sophisticated than that, but you get the drift.

So bottom line, go see this one. In the theater. Not your shitty 480i short-resolution tube television. See it on something ultra-hi-def with the gigantic sound and the three-dimensional glasses they provide. I will be seeing this one again a couple more times just to soak it all up.

Bottomer line? Get this. And it may be hard for you to swallow, but as of right now, still riddled with the excitement from seeing it the first time, speaking of storyline, character culmination, picture and effects… Best movie ever made. There. I said it. Now go see it.

It is definitely the best movie I have ever seen up to this point. I can’t wait to see what the next step in movie watching is going to be. I just can’t believe that they didn’t put a 3-D version on disc, you would think that the Blu-Ray would have it at least.
